Summary:
The PTC Construction Supervisor S&C will manage construction projects in the Southern Region. The scope of this work will include, but not be limited to managing material acquisition, tracking project timelines, interfacing with signal design engineers, tracking project expenses, and budget analysis. Overall responsibilities of this position focus on project efficiencies, budget constraints, and manpower utilization.
Duties:
Prepare scope documents and submit to Signal Design for proposed projects.
Involvement with site surveys to determine preconstruction work required and estimate costs to complete.
Work closely with local supervisors, signal design personnel, and managers on projects that fall under their jurisdiction.
Identify material, manpower, and design short falls in projects, make corrections to allow for efficient installation and budget commitments.
Budget management on construction projects.
Plan projects from start to finish; from acquisition of network numbers to determining cutover dates.
Prepare capital program requirements.
Position will report to the Manager S&C Construction.
Working Conditions:
Maybe required to work on varying shifts to cover operations that run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Work is combination of outdoor and indoor work.
Work shifts may vary and will include weekdays, weekends and holidays .
Will be on call based on territory requirements.
Extensive travel will be required (up to 75% of the time), which will include overnight stays away from home.
Will be required to respond to emergency situations.
Employment Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Two years of college or technical school with a focus on electrical or electronic technology.
Valid driver's license.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Signal and Communication position.
USOR Qualified
Comprehensive working knowledge of project management. Applicable regulatory requirements, signal and communications systems, railway S&C standards, specifications and procedures.
Good computer skills; especially working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word).
Preferred
Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering or comparable degree.
Experience working with SAP.
